The Company
A exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a highly regarded, values driven not-for-profit organisation delivering services across disability, aged care and retirement living. Their stunning offices are close to public transport, with retail shops, restaurants and public transport at walking distance. You will be required to work four days in the office and 1 day from home after training.

The Role
Reporting to the General Manager of Payroll, and working alongside three other Payroll Officers, this position will be responsible for accurate and timely processing of fortnightly payroll for over 3000 staff.
 
Key responsibilities will include:
  • End-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll for a large employee base
  • Maintain payroll systems and manage payroll records including leave, overtime and entitlements
  • Interpret relevant Awards, EBAs and contracts (including shift penalties and allowances)
  • Process terminations, variations, increases and backpay adjustments
  • Reconcile superannuation, WorkCover and other statutory deductions
  • Process salary packaging and liaise with external providers
  • Deliver accurate reporting to meet internal and legislative requirements
  • Champion service excellence, ensuring all payroll enquiries are handled promptly, accurately and with care
  • Partner closely with HR to ensure accurate, compliant employee set-up and continuous process improvement
  
What are we looking for?
  • Proven experience in a high volume payroll position with a NFP environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business/Accounting/Finance or related fields would be desirable
  • Experience working within the health care/aged care/disability industries will be high desirable
  • Strong Knowledge of awards, EBA's, Fair Work Act and employment agreements
  • Experience using payroll software systems, ideally SuccessFactors
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders
  • Advanced Ms Excel and systems savvy
  • Strong attention to detail with good accuracy 
  • Adaptable, positive and has a desire to grow!
