Sonja  Traynor

Sonja's recruitment journey began right here at Inter Staffing Services, where she progressed from Candidate Care Coordinator to Senior Recruitment Specialist before heading overseas to travel and work in the UK recruitment market.

Upon returning to Australia, Sonja joined a government-funded initiative focused on addressing nationwide workforce shortages in early education. During this time, she played a key role in driving tech stack optimisation and process improvement projects, helping to enhance efficiency, streamline operations and support the success of the program.

Now back where it all began, Sonja has returned to Inter as our Recruitment Operations Lead. She is the driving force behind our AI initiatives, systems implementation, process improvement and best-practice training. She also partners with clients on highly technical and specialist recruitment roles, which perfectly satisfies her self-confessed inner nerd.

Passionate about finding smarter ways of working, Sonja is always looking for opportunities to improve processes, embrace new technology and create better outcomes for both clients and candidates. Her energy, creativity and larger-than-life personality also play a big role in shaping Hugo's culture, bringing plenty of fun, ideas and enthusiasm to the team.

Sonja is completing a Bachelor of Counselling, which naturally complements her people-first approach. She strongly believes that authenticity, connection and a little bit of fun belong in every workplace. This philosophy shines through in the way she supports both candidates and colleagues.
